UCLA freshman forward Reeves Nelson has undergone laser eye surgery to repair a slight tear in his retina. The university says Nelson had the procedure Monday at UCLA’s Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Steven Schwartz says Nelson tolerated the procedure well. He says the tear should not affect Nelson’s ability to see the court.

A 4,000 donation from a local cancer group is set to help change the way surgery is carried out on prostate cancer patients. The big cash boost from The West Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group has paid for state-of-the-art keyhole surgery equipment for use by consultants at Morriston Hospital.
